The Flesh of the Happy and the Flesh of the Unhappy: An Interdisciplinary Research of Human Relation to Animal Product Consumption by Shiri Raz. In this seminar, Shiri Raz looks at the difficulty of speaking to fellow human beings about the human treatment of animals in the food industry. This difficulty of being listened to and heard takes a heavy toll both on us and on the animals. This is the center of this interdisciplinary, linguistic-literary-psychoanalytical research. Shiri will present a model which allows a deeper understanding of the conflicts between individuals and groups by observing the way we use language. This model can be beneficial both to the theoretical academic discussion and to everyday conversation. Read more →
