A mixed media group exhibition around the theme of animal welfare. Chickens live in a world that is far from ideal. We see them as beautiful in all their variety and artists have painted, sculpted, photographed and portrayed them as such. Meanwhile the reality is far from this, the small cages of the battery hen, the crowded sheds full of birds raised for meat. Anyone who has raised chickens in their backyard knows it takes around 5 months to be fully grown. In the industry it takes 7 weeks.
